ACLS -
The ACLS course provides the knowledge and skills needed to evaluate and manage the first 10 minutes of an adult ventricular fibrillation/ventricular tachycardia (VF/VT) arrest. ACLS is based on simulated clinical scenarios that encourage active, hands-on participation through learning stations at which students will practice essential skills individually, as part of a team, and as the team leader.

Realistic simulations reinforce the following key concepts: 

• Importance of basic life support care for patient survival
• Integration of effective basic life support with advanced cardiovascular life support interventions
• Recognizing and initiating early management of peri-arrest conditions
  managing cardiac arrest
• Identifying and treating ischemic chest pain and acute coronary syndromes
• Recognizing other life-threatening clinical situations (such as stroke) and providing initial care
• ACLS algorithms
• Effective team interaction and communication during resuscitation

The ACLS course covers:

• Defibrillation
• Airway management
• Rhythm recognition
• IV access
• Use of medications
• Cardioversion
• Transcutaneous pacing
• 1-Rescuer CPR, AED

 

 

PALS/NRP
The PALS course is designed to provide pediatric healthcare providers with the knowledge and skills necessary to efficiently and effectively manage critically ill infants and children and help improve outcomes.

 

The PALS course covers:

• Recognition and treatment of infants and children at risk for cardiopulmonary arrest
• Systematic approach to pediatric assessment
• Effective respiratory management
• Defibrillation and synchronized cardioversion
• Intraosseous access and fluid bolus administration
• Effective resuscitation team dynamics

*BLS: Certification & Recertification included in all courses
The BLS for Healthcare Providers course is designed to provide a wide variety of certified or noncertified, licensed or nonlicensed, healthcare professionals with the skills to keep people alive until they can be brought to a hospital or be treated with more advanced lifesaving measures.

 

The BLS course covers: 

• Adult and pediatric CPR
• Two-rescuer scenarios and use of the bag-valve mask
• Foreign-body airway obstruction (conscious and unconscious)
• Automated external defibrillation (includes child AED update)
• Special resuscitation situations
• Other cardiopulmonary emergencies
• Stroke and cardiac arrest

Training is performed by healthcare professionals certified by the American Heart Association as authorized providers of CPR and ECC courses.
