About IANA


Founded in 1939, the Illinois Association of Nurse Anesthesiology is the leading advocacy organization for CRNAs and the nurse anesthesia profession in Illinois. We help anesthesia professionals develop their skills and further their careers by providing access to unique and relevant content and exclusive member services. We provide continuity and support, guidance and leadership development opportunities to Certified Nurse Anesthetists and anesthesia students across Illinois.

Our non-profit association was created to organize CRNAs to support and encourage the art and science of anesthesiology. In the spirit of our pioneer anesthetists, today the IANA works together in the provide leadership for the development, promotion, and improvement of our profession, as well as strong legislative and regulatory advocacy in this era of never ceasing legislative, reimbursement and work environment challenges.

Mission
Promote and support the profession of nurse anesthesiology in Illinois through health policy advocacy, education and transformational leadership to advance patient safety and access to quality care.

Advocacy
We advocate by uniting members around the world to work on the most important issues facing the profession.

We initiate and manage programs with governmental and non-governmental agencies, presenting industry positions and supporting documentation on key issues.
